How to monetize an AI short drama or AI-generated series

Revenue share percentages are only comparable once you know what they are a share of. Here is every one side by side, and a plan for choosing.

By The Generated Worlds editors · Published · Updated

Match the route to your audience. With none yet, build reach on YouTube (55% of long-form ad revenue after the Partner Programme threshold), TikTok and Instagram. With viewers who want the next episode, sell it directly: Yoh's terms give creators 85% on a paid plan, Generated Worlds 80% of net revenue from viewer unlocks, free to publish, Koe 80% of season passes. With a finished horizontal series, Filmhub pays 80% of channel revenue.

How publishing on GW works

GW publishing facts reviewed 2026-10-10. Platform comparisons below keep their own source-check dates.

Free publishing on GW
The free Creator plan supports 1 new series a month, up to 100 episodes each. A paid studio site is optional.
Your independent studio site
Launch your own branded streaming site on Starter for $39 a month. Starter supports 3 new series a month. Publishing on GW and launching this site are separate steps.
Review
Episodes publish on GW as soon as they upload. GW reserves the right to take down any content, or suspend an account, that doesn't pass its review or the Community Guidelines. All published work remains subject to content and rights rules.
Paid episodes
Creators choose which episodes are free or paid. GW sets paid episodes at 10 tokens. The standard creator allocation is 80% of net episode revenue after processing; payouts start at $25. This is separate from brand-deal fees.
Discovery and returning viewers
Viewers can discover your work on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and GW. Send interested viewers to a recognizable series or studio destination where they can return for the story.
Publishing and studio plans

Generated Worlds publishes this and is one of the platforms compared, so its row is written the same way as the others — including where others offer more. Third-party figures were checked on 13 September 2026 against each platform's own pages; one is marked as reported.

Searching for an AI video creator revenue share platform turns up percentages from 45% to 90%, and they are not the same kind of number. 55% of an advertising pool you only enter after a threshold, 80% of what your own viewers spend, and 85% after a monthly plan fee describe three different businesses. The table below puts them side by side with what each share is actually of.

The steps

  1. Name the asset you actually have

Reach, a finished title, or viewers who finish your episodes — each is monetized by a different kind of platform, and most series have only one of the three to start.

  2. Build reach where it is free

Post the strongest 60 to 90 seconds of early episodes on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, disclosed as AI-generated, because those feeds find strangers and a direct-sale platform will not.

  3. Put the full series behind a door

Publish the whole season on a platform that can sell an episode or a pass, with a free run long enough to get viewers invested before the first paid episode.

  4. Compare shares on the same basis

Check the binding terms for the percentage, whether it is of net or gross, any monthly plan and any view threshold before choosing, using the table above.

  5. Place the finished title a second time

If the series is horizontal with episodes over two minutes, a non-exclusive aggregator such as Filmhub can place it on streaming channels as well.

  6. Keep the rights clean and the payouts connected

Confirm you hold rights to music and likenesses, avoid any platform whose terms claim ownership of uploads, and connect a payout account before the first sale.

Brand partnerships and sponsored Shop moments

On GW, eligible creators can open product moments, apply to advertiser briefs or receive invitations. Both sides discuss and confirm before a GW-paid placement is booked. The product appears in episode Shop at the agreed time; delivery credits an 88% creator allocation under the current 12% fee. My sponsors supports relationships the creator brings without GW processing that payment. Sponsorship and viewer episode revenue are separate earning mechanisms.

Checked 2026-09-13 on each platform's own pages, except Vurt, reported by TechCrunch on 2026-03-17. Yoh's marketing says 90%; its terms set a 15% fee.

Why the biggest percentage is not always the most money

  • Advertising shares pay nothing below the threshold. YouTube's 55% is worth zero to a channel that has not reached 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours, however good the series is.
  • Plan fees come off the top. Yoh's 85% on a $50 plan only overtakes a no-fee 80% once sales pass about $1,000 a month.
  • Of net and of gross differ by the card fee. Generated Worlds and Koe state their shares after processing, so the percentage is of money that actually arrived.
  • Sales shares depend on a unit of sale. A per-episode unlock charges at the cliffhanger; a pass charges up front; advertising charges nobody and pays per view.
  • A figure outside the terms is not binding. Cinely's 70% appears in its blog; Yoh's 90% appears in its marketing while its terms say 85%.

Where another route is the better answer

If nobody has seen your series, no revenue share matters yet — YouTube, TikTok and Instagram are the answer, and they are better at it than any platform in the top half of the table, this one included. If you have a finished horizontal series and would rather be placed on streaming services than build a following, Filmhub is built for that. If you sell a lot directly and can absorb a monthly fee, Yoh's terms pay a larger share than ours. And if you can make work to a studio's brief, ReelShort's and DramaBox's paid routes pay upfront in a way no share does.

Generated Worlds is for the case in between: a serialized AI story with viewers who want the next episode and nowhere to pay for it. Publishing is free, and creator onboarding and review apply. The paid-unlock route has no YPP-style view threshold and allocates the creator 80% of net revenue from viewer unlocks. The free Creator plan starts 1 new series a month, up to 100 episodes each, with free episodes of the creator's choosing; paid plans add the creator's own studio site, from $39 a month.

Common questions

How do you monetize an AI-generated series?

Match the route to your audience: build reach on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, then sell the full series directly to the viewers who want more on a per-episode or pass platform, and place finished horizontal titles through an aggregator like Filmhub. Every major platform allows AI-generated work provided it is disclosed.

Which AI video platform has the best creator revenue share?

Of the platforms checked on 13 September 2026, Yoh's terms give creators 85% (its marketing says 90%) on a $19 or $50 monthly plan. Generated Worlds gives 80% of net revenue from viewer unlocks, free to publish, Koe 80% of season passes on a $10 plan, and Filmhub 80% of channel revenue. Cinely, Cinee and Microdrama AI state 70%; YouTube pays 55% of long-form ad revenue.

Can AI-generated videos be monetized on YouTube?

Yes, with disclosure. YouTube requires realistic synthetic content to be labelled and acts against mass-produced repetitive uploads. A channel still needs the Partner Programme threshold — 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views — before earning its 55% of long-form or 45% of Shorts advertising revenue.

What does 80% of net revenue mean on Generated Worlds?

The card processing fee comes off a viewer's purchase first, then the creator keeps 80% of what remains from unlocks of their episodes and the platform keeps 20%. Viewers can use eligible token balances or the current direct episode and bundle purchase flow. Promotional token spends do not create paid creator revenue. Payouts run once a balance reaches $25.

Do I need followers to earn from an AI series?

On advertising platforms, yes — YouTube and TikTok set follower and view thresholds, and Microdrama AI sets 100,000 views. On direct-sale platforms, generally not: Generated Worlds, Yoh and Koe set no follower threshold, though Yoh and Koe charge a monthly plan, while publishing on Generated Worlds is free.
